Your July Update
It's hot outside, but it's so scary inside.
Back In The Saddle?
It’s Summertime, and we’re doing our best here at Miketron2000 Industries to keep our cool. I haven’t been doing a good job telling you about the projects on the board lately, so let’s get at it!
DC Comics
Shazam!
I’ve been pitching in over at DC on one of my faves, SHAZAM! again. I drew half of issues 10 and 11 and all of 13, and it’s been super fun. It’s a character I love drawing, so let’s hope there’s more down the road.
Batman: The Brave and the Bold!
Rob Levin wrote a cool story about the obscure Batman villain, False Face and what happens when bad guys in Gotham mess with other bad guys. It’s called “Left Unsaid” and features in issue 12.
Super Pets!
Tony Fleecs and I have mentioned to each other a couple of times how we never get asked to do any of superhero pet comics that Marvel and DC occasionally publishes. Well, we can no longer complain, because we have a story in the upcoming BITEDENTITY CRISIS from DC. Is a fun story about the recruitment of Nightwing’s new puppy into the Legion of Super-Pets. Will there be a pug? I think you already can guess the answer.
Here’s a selection of some of the fun stuff!

The Super-Pets books should be out July 30th. The rest are currently available!
BATTLEPUG
The art for the newest Battlepug volume is COMPLETE. I’m just working up the script for ace letterer Crank! to work his magic with. I appreciate everyone who’s waited this long. I hope you’re happy with the result. I’m talking with several of my Kickstarter experienced comic pals about the best way to launch its campaign asap. I’m very nervous, but excited about it. Luckily, I have tons of talented Kickstarter veterans to call on for help. AND I WILL.

The Return of…CONVENTIONS
I’ve been getting back in that convention feeling again. I took a few years off (like most), but im finally getting back out there. So far, I’ve been to Motor City Comic Con in May and the Bluegrass Pugfest in Louisville, KY earlier in June. Both were great, and I’m looking forward to the rest of the year. Here’s where I’ll be.
Fan Expo Chicago | AUGUST 16 - 18, 2024 | DONALD E. STEPHENS CONVENTION CENTER
Rose City Comic Con | September 6 – September 8 | Oregon Convention Center
Indie Comix Expo | September 26 | Reggie’s Rock Club Chicago
Memphis Comic Expo | October 26 - 27 | Renasant Convention Center in Downtown Memphis
It’ll be great to meet y’all out there if you’re in the area around those times. If not, I’ll just see y’all at Thanksgiving like usual. Your mom and I are making deviled eggs this year!

New Art!
I’m now represented by Comic Art House for original art sales!
“But Mike!… You’re working digitally these days, aren’t you?”, you may be asking.
True! But Bob over at CAH has made these amazing, high-quality, stamped, numbered, and signed one-of-a-kind giclee-style prints of recent pages I’ve drawn.

So far, we’ve only done some recent Hellboy and Batman, but if demand becomes higher, there will definitely be more. Inquire here or just click below!
Hollywood Beckons
Have you seen the news? REVIVAL, the comic series I created with Tim Seeley is heading to tv! Syfy has given a series order produced by Canadian company Blue Ice Pictures set to air in 2025. I’m uncharacteristically excited about it, but when I email to ask who I get to play in the show, I get no replies. I wonder what that means?
Also, Image is putting out a big mega-collection of the WHOLE DANG SERIES out in September. You should get it if you don’t have it yet.
But Wait! There’s More!
I’m in the middle of some other stuff, too. I’m drawing some of the best pages I’ve ever done (in my opinion) for a new Dark Horse licensed book (one of the blurred out projects in that first photo!) and some art for a video game. I’d like to say more, but I’ve signed NDA’s. There’s also some more Archie comics on the horizon.
Jeez, looking at that all written out… Sure looks like a lot. Hopefully I’ll get time to practice guitar and play with the cats in between! I promise to let y’all know more when I know more! Thanks for keeping up. You’re the reason I get to keep making this stuff in the first place.
